I don't know, I was in a room with 14 guys from 25-75 years old. Universally we thought that if this is the best that the greatest ad men and women could come up with (severly watered down by focus group testing of course) then the business is in a sad state of affairs.
I will admit that the dalmation Bud Ad was good, other than that the ads bit the big one.
Friends...
I dozed through the halftime show, and may have missed a good commercial or two.
Nonetheless, the two I liked was the "dancing lizards" as they moved to the Michael Jackson song, "Thriller" and the "Talking Baby" on the e-trade commercial.
Other than this, a few others were fun, but had no "staying power."

Ben
Ben,
I have to agree.
We had about 15 men and women (all ages).
Nobody was too impressed with this years ads.
I think we have all grown to expect a lot out of Superbowl ads. They really have to get super creative to impress.
I think most of these missed the mark.
I thought it was interesting that they had so many of the sales leads company. Very interesting that they would spend their advertising dollars on airtime during the Super Bowl.

I believe that the sales lead company advertised during the game last year as well. They claim to have had an amazing response so decided to go much bigger this year.

Overall I didn't think they were very good. Too many guys running around in their underwear. I am sure glad the Census and Our Government wasted over $2.5 million.
Many made sure to put in the animals.
A good short video to watch that makes you think. Doritos should have directed everyone that watched their ad to their Facebook page and then offered a Coupon to print off for a FREE bag of chips. They could then see the ROI and actual numbers versus spending $2.7 million per ad and just assuming if sales go up in February its because of the Super Bowl ad they did.
Smaller companies could also do this very easily. Direct people to their Facebook page and offer a free promotional item if you fill out a survey or sign up for their monthly newsletter. There are tons of ways to utilize social media, and most companies are failing to see the great opportunity.
"Companies that advertised aggressively during the 1981 and 1982 recession had sales 256% higher than those that did not continue to advertise."
